Fueling the Long Ride
For us it’s Hammer Fuels. There are a lot of products out there but this stuff just flat works for us. Go to the Hammer Website Here…………..we trust the folks at Hammer. They have done a tremendous amount of research and they’ve been in the buisness for a very long time. They are also not giving us any kickbacks so you can trust what we are saying……we need to also say that there is no cookie cutter solution for every athlete. Find what works for you and stick with it. Don’t experiment on race day. Never ever use anything that you haven’t tested extensively in training. For example: I used Hammer Perpeteum for 6 months straight. Absolutely nothing entered my body during training except the same 4 hour Hammer bottle (200 cal/hr). Even if the ride was only 2.5 hours, I used the same mix-to-water ratio, just in a smaller bottle. It is that kind of attention to detail which makes the difference. Some guys train like maniacs only to sabotage their race/efforts with either no nutritional plan or a poor one…have a plan. Test it. Stick with it. If your plan fails, then you didn’t test it enough. Plain and simple.
